JOB TITLE: UNIX DEVELOPER

JOB TYPE: PERMANENT

LOCATION: GLASGOW

SALARY: UP TO £60,000PA

JOB SUMMARY:

Our client is a leading financial institution based in Glasgow and due to a period of restructure, the corporate IT division require an experienced Unix developer to join their busy compliance team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main responsibility is to upgrade their existing suite of compliance applications and to build new applications to support the changing needs of the business. This involves:

· Unix development / Data Modelling
· Business analysis required in Creation of technical design documentation
· Unit / System testing
· Assisting the QA test team in development of test plans

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

· Unix / Linux scripting essential
· Advanced RDBMS and SQL knowledge essential
· Experience in Sybase and DB2 preferred
· Experience in all phases of software development essential
· Development emphasis on design coding, data modelling and testing
· Experience in Financial Services preferred
· Experience in Microsoft office packages
· Desirable skills include experience in Java, XML, Perl and Autosys.
