Water Design and Build Team Leader
Our client is one of the top firms globally delivering management, engineering and development solutions for public and private sector customers. They have a global presences and are looking to recruit a talented engineer for their Edinburgh office.
To lead water and wastewater design and build teams based in Edinburgh (or Glasgow). The role will involve the management of designs for Scottish Water and contractors in a Design and Build Environment.
Job Description
Project management of water and wastewater projects.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to design teams.
Supervision of technical staff.
Coach and mentor graduates and other staff.
Application of management systems to projects (Quality, Environmental and H&S).
Budget and programme control.
Progress reporting internally and externally.
Liaison with customers.
Lead proposals and bids.
Encourage Professional Excellence and Knowledge Management.
Participate in business development (seek out and follow up opportunities, attend customer events).
Experience Required
Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
Chartered Engineer, CEng via MICE or MIStructE or MCIWEM.
Experience of a design and build process.
Detailed working knowledge of the design process.
Experience in designing and managing multi-disciplinary design teams.
Proven commercial awareness and success.
Must be confident and assertive for dealing with contractors.
Driving licence essential.
Fluent with MS Office software.
PC literate.
Knowledge of Scottish Water and its processes desireable.
