Our client is currently seeking a Project Designer to join their office in West Lothian.
Working alongside Architects, designers and clients your role will involve the design development of display cases and the creation of presentation drawings for approval. Working with client sketches through to engineering solutions fit for fabrication.
You will have product knowledge of materials such as glass, aluminium, sheet metal, structural steel as well as moving parts. The client is particularly interested in candidates who have a good working knowledge of product design. Someone from a mechanical engineering background (folded steel, steel box sections, welding, mechanical assemblies and mechanisms) would be favourable.
In order to carry out this role you must have design experience with excellent and demonstrable knowledge of either Inventor or a similar 3D CAD package. Experience working on museum projects or similar would be extremely beneficial. Candidates should be degree qualified possibly from a product design or mechanical engineering background. A strong understanding of mechanical assemblies and mechanisms is extremely beneficial.
