Cdm Coordinator (Mechanical)
CDM Coordinator with a mechanical bias urgently required to be based on sites throughout Scotland for our key client based down south.
In this role you will:
- Advise the Client teams on their responsibilities under the CDM 2007 Regulations.
- Apply CDM 2007 Regulations in the context of the Clients business processes.
- Apply CDM 2007 Regulations in the context of the project management methodology. This will include tasks such as providing indicative CDM-C service costs to the Lead Designer.
- Maintain up to date CDM documentation in the Client CDM toolkit.
- Submit a monthly report to the area CDM Advisor.
- Issue the initial F10 (ASARP) to HSE.
- Review F10 through life of the project, F10s should always be in date.
- Agree the form of H&S File for the project with the Client (PM).
- Initiate the Health and Safety File. If information is not forthcoming, advise the area CDM Advisor so that non-conformance can be logged.
- Complete the Health and Safety File Checklist. Inform the CDM Team.
- Ensure the necessary Pre-construction Information is identified, collected and passed on to the right person.
- Review adequacy of Risk Assessments and Method Statements and record and advise appropriately.
- Advise the Client that the Construction Phase Plan is adequate for work to start and provide details of issues that may hinder the start of project if any.
- Work with Design Team. Coordinate all aspects and facilitate project co-operation.
- Attend project meetings. Coordinate and report back to the 'Client'.
- Liaise with the Principal Contractor regarding on-going design during the construction phase of the project.
- Undertake audit on sub-contractor competence and log in the system.
- Undertake a site safety inspection on the project and log in the system. Report any major non-conformance to the Clients Safety System.
- Undertake audits on others projects.
You will be responsible for a number of projects throughout Scotland and as such, the tasks list outlined is not exhaustive and may be subject to change depending on individual project requirements.
This role will start off as a freelance position for an initial 6-8 weeks with the view to going permanent thereafter. Our client is looking to establish a base up in Scotland and your start with this company could be instrumental in ensuring that this happens.
The candidate for the CDMC position needs to have a gas, oil, water or mechanical background as it is gas pipelines and station projects you will be working on. A gas and mechanical background would be the best combination in experience. However, should you not have both then having one of the above four would allow you to be considered.
You must have strong construction / utility experience, preferably on gas, power or rail projects.
NEBOSH qualification is required and membership as a registered CDM-C with the Association of Project Safety.
