Become a mentor You Can Make a Difference
LINKnet Mentoring Ltd is a voluntary sector mentoring project established to serve black minority ethnic people living in Edinburgh, the Lothian’s, Scottish Borders and Fife.
Those who are willing to offer support to develop another person's life on a voluntary basis can be recruited as mentors. We cover three main areas of mentoring, employment, academic and personal development. Anyone can be a mentor. All you have to do is spend one hour a week mentoring for a period of 4 to 6 months. Necessary training and supervision will be provided by LINKnet. Mentors' travel expenses will also be paid on claim. Our mentees are from a black minority background but mentors can be anyone!
Becoming a mentor with LINKnet benefits you in multiple ways, one of which is the enormous satisfaction you gain by developing & helping improve the quality of life of another person.
We have a mentor training day on Saturday 28th June 9.45-3.30pm, at our office at 31 Guthrie Street, lunch is provided. Or if you prefer we can have one to one training, this should take no longer than 2 hours.
