Eden Scott's client is a well known service provider with a requirement for a qualified accountant to join the team as a Capital Accountant.

This role would suit an ambitious individual who would look at this role as a stepping stone onto more senior positions within the business.

The role reports into the Project Accountant and will cover the following areas:

* Managing and coordinating the capital expenditure, accounting and reporting processes (annual budget £320m)
* Managing and coordinating the Corporate Major Projects capital expenditure, accounting and reporting processes (annual budget £200M)
* Managing the asset accounting database (value of over £2bn)
* Ensuring the capital project authorisation process is in line with company procedures
* Ensuring capital project financial management and reporting within Power Systems meets the strict regulatory requirements set by OFGEM
* Liaising with external & internal audit on a regular basis
* Liaising with and influencing project managers in all aspects of capital project financial management
* Co-ordinate and prepare the Group Annual Budget position and Board paper and updating this at various points during the year. In addition the post is key to providing information to Corporate Finance in the preparation of the Group long term capital forecast.
* Managing a small team of 2 staff to deliver the above responsibilities

To be considered you will have a recognised accountancy qualification
* Ideally have some project accounting experience.
* Possess excellent communication and influencing skills, particularly with Senior Managers.
* Demonstrate display the ability and desire to make continuous improvements to existing processes.
