Accounts Analyst
The role title is a Separate Accounts Analsyt which will report directly into the Separate Accounts Revenue Controller. You will be responsible for the revenue postings on a legal basis of entities within the Investment Management business in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The team will support monthly and quarterly reporting to BlackRock New York on a US GAAP basis and quarterly and annual reporting on a UK GAAP basis for regulatory and local statutory filing process of a number of legal entities. This includes the review and control of Separately Managed Accounts (SMA) revenue bookings to the general ledger.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
* Detailed analysis and commentary on monthly SMA revenue trends.
* Comparison of estimates to actual revenues as part of monthly reporting process.
* Liaison with billing team, client relationship managers and other Finance staff to produce accurate monthly revenue accruals.
* Providing support to entity controllers to assist regulatory reporting.
* Providing support to consolidated reporting team on monthly revenue reporting.
* Reconciliation of accrual postings to Oracle general ledger and billing sub-ledger (Advantage).
* Monthly account sign off involving reconciliation and substantiation of balance sheet accounts.
* Maintenance of accounting records including processing month end journals
* Ensure strong controls and procedures are in place in relation to the general ledger.
* Development and enhancement of processes, controls and procedures.
* Discussions with accounting policy team to ensure correct accounting treatments applied (as required).
* Liaison with head office, auditors, tax & treasury teams (as required).
Skills / experience required:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified with a strong academic record
* 2+ years post-qualified experience, preferably in Financial Services
* Ability to clearly and confidently communicate in verbal and written form, with all levels of business
* Self starter, highly numerate, quick learner, team player, with an ability to adjust to change and the desire to take on responsibility is required
* Organised and methodical, possessing attention to detail, ability to work under pressure with very tight deadlines is a must
* High level of technical skills, in excel and general ledger applications, preferably knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management
