YO! Sushi, the UK’s leading conveyor belt restaurant, opened our first store in London in 1997 and now operate 54 restaurants in 5 countries. Based on the concept of a Japanese ‘Kaiten’ sushi bar, we offer a quality, fast and fun dining experience for all age groups. Due to our continuing success we’re expanding our operations and have a vacancy for a Sous Chefs at our restaurant in Edinburgh.
The Sous Chef Job Role
Reporting to the Head Chef, the Sous Chef is required to be responsible for all aspects of supervising the Kitchen Team Leaders and Team Members and for running the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef. In addition The Sous Chef will be responsible for:
Food quality, profitability, timeliness of food, cleanliness and maintenance
Performance of Kitchen Team Leaders and Team Members and ensuring that they adhere to the company’s policies and procedures
Preparation of various reports (relating to all aspects of the performance of Kitchen staff and the restaurant unit) to the Head Chef and General Manager on a weekly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual basis
To participate in the recruitment process of Kitchen staff.
The Sous Chef Candidate
To apply for this role you must be able to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasked environment and must have the following:-
Extensive experience as a Chef.
Proven supervisory expertise and good problem solving skills.
Sound academic background and an understanding and application of mathematical principles as well as calculation and analysis.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to produce recipes within brand specification.
First class verbal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with members of staff and customers.
A complete understanding and a passion for Asian cuisine.
