Finance Officer Job costing £15.00p h
Central Public Sector office requires a finance officer on a temporary basis for approximately six month initially. It is envisaged that this post will be involved in a range of the activities and functions as detailed below:
Business Support
- Appraise current charging mechanisms, processes and procedures and recommend changes were necessary,
- Develop and install charging mechanism to allow for full recovery of central and departmental overheads,
- Build up accurate unit costs to enable full recovery of all costs,
- Set up the Total costing ledger for use in recharging job costs,
- Work closely with line managers to establish income and costs,
- The post will be required to investigate processes and systems on an ongoing basis so as decrease costs and improve profitability,
Contribute positively to changes affecting the service, advocating new practices and procedures.
Ensure that the professional integrity of the service is maintained at all times.
Carry out other appropriate duties and responsibilities as required.
The role will interface and work closely with systems to deliver cost management information therefore detailed costing experience in a large organisation is necessary along with a membership of a recognised accounting body. Knowledge of Consilium Total would be advantageous although not essential.
