Looking for an illustrator for a children's story
Hi, I'm an aspiring writer with an 8,000 word short story I think would condense down to a good Children's book, with the right illustrations. As I'm not in a position to commission Quentin Blake, Edward Gorey or Maurice Sendak, I'm looking for someone in a similar position to myself who's trying to make a name for themselves.
Ideally, I'd be looking to collaborate and re-write the story in tandem with you, and go back and forth a bit on ideas about how to fit words and picture together. I'm thinking as well that the story I have would shrink quite considerably.
Just as a bit of an indication of the kind of style I was thinking of, this illustrator caught my eye when I was doing a bit of research:

The story itself would have lots of shadows, animal images, and a little of a fantastical feel. I'm open to suggestions, though. If you'd like to collaborate on something that would then be a joint project we send off to a publishing house, get in touch!
