My client has an urgent requirement for a planning officer to join their team in Edinburgh on a 3 month contract. The ideal candidate will have experience in local planning and will be involved in planning decisions regarding water, waste, land-use and pollution.

 

With a background in land-use planning, possibly within a local authority, the ideal candidate will be involved in report writing and the composition of responses to active stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be highly computer literate and have drive and ability to work largely unsupervised on tasks and planning applications at a primarily local level.

 

The ideal candidate should also have some knowledge of environmental issues and a basic understanding of Environmental Impact Assessments would be highly beneficial in aiding an understanding of the larger implications of the projects being undertaken.

 

This contract is expected to run until the end of 2009 and represents an excellent opportunity to work on interesting projects with a high-profile and highly regarded organisation.
